Jharkhand News : A sudden land subsidence in the BCCL Lodna area on Thursday triggered panic among residents. The ground suddenly sank with a loud sound near Barari Number Six Basti, following which smoke and flames began emerging from cracks in the ground.
The incident has left local residents concerned about the possibility of a major accident. People in the area have called for immediate preventive measures at the affected site.
Road to Laxmi Colony Faces Potential Risk
The land subsidence could also affect the main road leading to Laxmi Colony. If the affected area expands, vehicular movement on the road may have to be stopped.
Residents are concerned that further ground movement could create difficulties for people using the road.
BCCL Technical Team Begins Investigation
After receiving information about the incident, a BCCL technical team reached the spot and inspected the affected area.
The team has started examining the possible causes of the land subsidence and the fire emerging from the cracks. Further assessment is being carried out at the site.
Residents Demand Immediate Barricading
Local residents have urged the administration and BCCL management to immediately barricade the affected area. They said allowing people to enter the open zone could lead to a major accident.
Residents have also demanded immediate concrete measures to control the underground fire and land subsidence. They have called for continuous monitoring of the affected area to prevent any untoward incident.
