Ranchi : RKDF University, Ranchi, observed the birthday of its Chancellor, Dr. Sadhana Kapoor, by organising a series of service-oriented and social initiatives, highlighting the values of compassion, social responsibility and Indian culture.
As part of the celebrations, a blood donation camp was organised in association with the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Ranchi. Students, teachers and employees of the university participated enthusiastically in the camp and contributed towards saving lives. The organisers also appealed to members of society to come forward and make voluntary blood donation a regular practice.
A special Vishwakarma Puja was also organised on the university campus. Faculty members, employees and students participated in the religious ceremony and offered prayers to Lord Vishwakarma, regarded as a symbol of knowledge, skill, technology, craftsmanship and creative endeavour. Prayers were offered for the continued progress, prosperity and success of the institution.
The birthday celebrations were further connected with social service initiatives at a gaushala and a school for children with hearing and speech disabilities. Members of the university community visited these institutions and extended their support, care and companionship, conveying a message of respect and responsibility towards every section of society.
The university management said that a birthday becomes more meaningful when happiness is shared with society and efforts are made to bring a positive change in the lives of those in need. Initiatives such as blood donation, service at the gaushala and spending time with children with disabilities reflect this spirit of humanity and social responsibility.
RKDF University, Ranchi, continues to focus on developing human values, social sensitivity, a spirit of service and responsible citizenship among students alongside academic education. The initiatives organised on the occasion were described as a reflection of this commitment.
