Koderma: A road accident occurred late Thursday night in Koderma Sadar block when people returning home after completing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) work were involved in a crash. A woman died in the accident, while a young woman sustained serious injuries. Two other people reportedly suffered minor injuries.
Vehicle Hits Pile of Bricks and Sand
According to information available, residents of Garayadih village in Sadar block were returning home after completing SIR-related work.
The vehicle collided with a pile of bricks and sand placed along the roadside near Anantadih on Jainagar Road. The impact was severe.
Around 50-year-old Girija Devi, wife of late Laxman Yadav, died at the spot. Maya Kumari, 22, daughter of Ramswaroop Das and a resident of Behradih under Pathaldiha panchayat, sustained serious injuries.
Maya Kumari was admitted to Koderma Sadar Hospital for treatment. The accident triggered grief among the families of those involved.
Locals Allege Roadside Construction Material Caused Accident
Local residents alleged that construction material had been placed illegally along the road and that this contributed to the accident.
Angered by the incident, local people blocked the Koderma-Kowar main road. Following the information, the Sadar Circle Officer and a police team reached the spot and spoke with the protesters.
The road blockade was subsequently removed after officials tried to pacify the agitated residents, and traffic was restored.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
