Budhmu Sand Ghat Incident: JCB Catches Fire, Rahul Dubey Gang Claims Responsibility

Ranchi: An incident involving alleged gunfire and a fire in a JCB machine used for loading sand has been reported at a sand ghat in Chappar village under Budhmu police station limits in Ranchi district. While reports suggested that unidentified criminals fired around 8–10 rounds before setting the machine on fire, police have not confirmed the firing and suspect that a short circuit may have caused the blaze.

Khelari Deputy Superintendent of Police Ramnarayan Chaudhary said the firing incident had not been confirmed so far. He added that the fire in the JCB could have resulted from a short circuit.

Rahul Dubey Gang Claims Responsibility

A social media post attributed to the Rahul Dubey gang has reportedly claimed responsibility for the incident. The post allegedly warned people associated with the sand business to suspend operations at the sand ghat until an agreement was reached.

The post also reportedly threatened employees, supervisors and drivers working at the site. In addition, threats were allegedly directed at family members of people involved in coal, sand and land transactions.

However, the gang’s involvement in the incident has not been officially confirmed.

Police Reach the Spot, Investigation Begins

After receiving information about the incident, a team led by Khelari DSP Ramnarayan Chaudhary, along with Budhmu police personnel, reached the location and began an investigation.

Police are examining the circumstances surrounding the fire and allegations of gunfire. Officials have reiterated that the firing has not yet been confirmed and that a short circuit remains one possible explanation for the JCB fire.

The investigation is intended to establish what happened at the sand ghat and whether the incident involved any criminal activity.

Rahul Dubey Gang’s Alleged Extortion Network Under Scrutiny

According to police, the Rahul Dubey gang operates its network from Latehar and allegedly demands extortion money, commonly referred to as levy, from major contractors and businesspeople in the area.

The reported incident and the social media post claiming responsibility are being examined in this context. However, investigators have yet to establish any direct link between the gang and the fire at the sand ghat.

Police Await Findings of Investigation

The incident has led to competing claims about what happened at the Chappar sand ghat. While allegations of firing and threats have emerged, the police have not confirmed the firing and have suggested that an electrical short circuit may have caused the JCB fire.

Further details are expected to emerge as investigators examine the available evidence and verify the claims surrounding the incident.
