Ranchi Sets Up Medical Camps at Eight Locations for Durga Puja

Ranchi: Ranchi Sadar Hospital has made special healthcare and emergency arrangements ahead of Durga Puja 2026. The hospital has prepared 20 additional beds to accommodate emergency patients and will keep four additional ambulances ready to respond to medical emergencies during the festival.

According to Vimlesh Singh, Deputy Superintendent of Sadar Hospital, the hospital will remain on alert from October 17 to 20. Leave for doctors and healthcare workers has been cancelled during this period, and doctors will be available round the clock to ensure timely treatment for patients.

The Civil Surgeon’s office issued an order regarding the arrangements on Monday.

Medical Camps at Three Major Locations

According to the order, medical camps will be established near Albert Ekka Chowk, the Sadar Police Station in Kokar, and the Municipal Control Room near Kachahari Chowk.

The camps will be equipped with essential medicines for providing first aid and immediate medical assistance. Doctors and medical personnel will work in three shifts to ensure continuous coverage.

An ambulance will also be stationed at each of these three medical camps to facilitate the quick transportation of patients to hospitals whenever necessary.

Medical Teams and 108 Ambulances at Five More Locations

In addition to the three medical camps, medical teams accompanied by 108 ambulances will be deployed at five other locations across Ranchi.

These locations are:

  • Jagannathpur Police Station
  • Tupudana Outpost (OP)
  • Vrindavan Colony Durga Puja Committee, Boriya Road
  • Sujata Chowk
  • Ratu Road

Medical teams at these five locations will provide services from 4 pm to midnight during the designated period.

Focus on Emergency Medical Services

The arrangements have been made to respond promptly to medical emergencies during the Durga Puja celebrations. Additional beds, ambulance services and medical camps are intended to improve access to immediate treatment for residents and visitors.
