Mumbai: The three accused arrested in Rajasthan in connection with the firing incident targeting Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff were brought to Mumbai at around 4 am on Wednesday, October 21. After a journey of approximately 17 hours from Kota, the Mumbai Police took them to GT Hospital for medical examinations before beginning their interrogation.
The accused have been placed with the Anti-Extortion Cell of the Mumbai Crime Branch. They were expected to be produced before a court on Wednesday as investigators sought further custody for questioning.
Three Accused Identified as Hrithik Kumar, Phool Singh and Rehan Ansari
The three accused have been identified as Hrithik Kumar, Phool Singh and Rehan Ansari. Police have tightened security around them in view of the seriousness of the case.
Following their medical examinations, the accused were taken to the Mumbai Crime Branch’s Anti-Extortion Cell, where investigators are questioning them about the alleged shooting, the planning behind the attack and their movements after the incident.
Their lawyer, Ajinkya Mirgal, said he had not yet been allowed to meet the three accused to obtain their signatures on the vakalatnama, the document authorising a lawyer to represent a client in court.
Rehan Allegedly in Contact with Anil Pandit
Investigators have reportedly found that Rehan was in contact with Anil Pandit, who is suspected of links to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Police are examining alleged communications between the two in connection with the attack on Tiger Shroff.
Investigators are trying to establish the alleged roles of the accused, whether the shooting was carried out as part of a larger conspiracy and whether other individuals were involved in planning or facilitating the attack.
The alleged links remain under investigation, and the roles of the accused will have to be established through the legal process.
Four More Accused Arrested in Delhi
The investigation has widened following the arrest of four additional suspects by the Delhi Police Special Cell on Tuesday, October 20. They have been identified as Kunal, Sumit, Radha and Babita.
According to police reports, the four are suspected of involvement in an alleged weapons-supply network connected to the shooting. Radha and Babita were reportedly arrested at New Delhi Railway Station, while Kunal and Sumit were apprehended in Sonipat, Haryana.
Investigators suspect that the two women allegedly transported weapons to Mumbai, while the other two men may have played a role in supplying weapons or assisting the shooters. The four were also formally arrested by Mumbai Police after court permission was obtained for their custodial interrogation.
Firing Took Place in Mumbai’s Juhu Area
The shooting took place on Sunday evening, October 18, near Pushpa Narsee Park in Mumbai’s Juhu area. According to reports, three assailants allegedly opened fire at a vehicle carrying Tiger Shroff.
The actor escaped serious harm, while his driver and another person were injured in the incident. Mumbai Police launched an investigation and tracked the suspects before arresting the three alleged shooters in Kota, Rajasthan.
With three suspects arrested in Kota and four more in Delhi and Haryana, investigators are now examining the alleged conspiracy, the supply of weapons and the possible involvement of others.
