Jharkhand News : Artificial Intelligence (AI) is emerging as a major support system for farmers in Dhanbad, making agriculture smarter, safer, and more profitable. With the help of AI-based platforms, farmers are now receiving faster, more accurate, and locally relevant information related to weather forecasts, sowing schedules, pest management, crop monitoring, and government schemes.
AI is strengthening the agricultural supply chain from farm to market while significantly reducing risks for farmers. Vinod Rajak, a farmer from the Dhokhra area of Dhanbad, said that AI provides highly accurate local weather predictions, which are crucial for planning sowing, land preparation, and the use of seeds and fertilizers.
He added that weather forecasts generated through AI have become more reliable and are bringing visible changes at the ground level. Farmers are also getting instant answers to their queries related to various government schemes. The AI platform is available in 11 languages and assists hundreds of farmers daily. So far, it has answered more than 9.3 million farmer queries.
Another farmer from Dhokhra, Vikas Hembram, said that due to weather uncertainty and climate change, pest attacks on crops have increased, leading to heavy losses. In such situations, AI enables farmers and agricultural workers to identify pests instantly by clicking photos through mobile phones and receive immediate solutions.
Experts believe that real-time information related to weather, pests, soil, and crops will reduce risks and make farming more scientific, sustainable, and profitable. In the coming years, AI is expected to play a significant role in increasing farmers’ income and transforming Indian agriculture.
