Jharkhand News : Political activity within the Bharatiya Janata Party has intensified ahead of the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections in Jharkhand. Several senior leaders, former chief ministers, and long-time party workers have reportedly started lobbying for a Rajya Sabha seat, making candidate selection a major challenge for the party leadership.
Several prominent names under discussion
According to party sources, current Rajya Sabha MP Deepak Prakash is trying to secure another term.

Meanwhile, Sita Soren, who recently joined the BJP after leaving the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, has also reportedly expressed interest in entering the Rajya Sabha.

Party insiders suggest that the BJP may field a candidate from Jharkhand itself for the Rajya Sabha election. The name of a former IRS officer is also reportedly being discussed within party circles.
At the same time, several old and dedicated BJP workers are actively trying to strengthen their claims at the organizational level.
BJP working on strategy to ensure victory
Leader of Opposition in the Assembly, Babulal Marandi, said that several capable names have emerged within the party. He stated that the state unit will send a list of possible candidates to the central leadership, after which the final decision will be taken in Delhi.
He also said that the BJP is preparing a strategy to contest the election with full strength and ensure victory.
“Vote according to conscience” remark sparks discussion
Political circles are also discussing Babulal Marandi’s statement urging legislators to vote according to their “inner conscience.”
Political analysts believe that given the current strength of parties in the Assembly, the BJP is also keeping an eye on the possibility of cross-voting. This is believed to be one of the reasons the party is carefully working on all political equations ahead of the election.
