Jharkhand News : A tragic incident unfolded on Sunday evening at Burudih Dam in Jharkhand’s Ghatshila, where a Bolero vehicle ran into a group of people celebrating a picnic, leaving 10 people injured, including several children. Of the injured, four are reported to be in serious condition.

The victims had arrived for a picnic from Jamshedpur’s Sonari and Dimna areas. Following the incident, chaos erupted at the site. With the help of locals and police, the injured were rushed to the Ghatshila Sub-Divisional Hospital for treatment.

Angry Crowd Sets Vehicle on Fire

Enraged by the accident, locals allegedly set the Bolero on fire. Reports said the occupants of the Bolero had come for a picnic from Gopiballabhpur in West Bengal. Amid the confusion, a cook seated in the vehicle was mistaken for the driver and assaulted, leaving him injured. He is currently undergoing treatment at the sub-divisional hospital under police supervision.

One Suffers Fracture, Others Treated

Among the injured, Krishna Pal suffered a fractured leg and was referred from the Ghatshila hospital to MGM Hospital Jamshedpur for advanced care. Others, including Varun Vishwakarma, Santosh Mahto, and Manish Mahto, are being treated at the Ghatshila hospital. The remaining injured sustained minor injuries.

Police Probe Underway

Police reached the spot promptly to control the situation and have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident—whether due to negligence or other factors. Separate inquiries are also underway into the arson of the vehicle and the assault incident.

Authorities have urged people to maintain calm as the investigation continues.
