Jharkhand News : This year, Chaitra Navratri will begin on March 19 (Shukla Pratipada) and conclude on March 27 (Navami). During these nine days, devotees will perform special prayers and rituals dedicated to the nine forms of Goddess Durga.
According to priest Manoj Pandey, the festival is considered extremely sacred because it is believed that Lord Brahma created the universe on this day. Navratri also marks the beginning of the Hindu New Year (Nav Samvatsar). Devotees light an Akhand Jyoti (eternal lamp) in homes and temples and worship the different forms of Goddess Durga during the nine days.
Rare Auspicious Yogas on the First Day
As per the Rishikesh Panchang, several rare and auspicious astrological combinations will occur on the first day of Navratri. Kalash Sthapana will be performed during Shukla Yoga, Kalatmak Yoga, and Chhatra Yoga, which are considered highly auspicious for worship.
The auspicious time for Kalash Sthapana will be from 6:52 AM to 7:43 AM. According to religious beliefs, prayers performed during these auspicious yogas bring blessings, fulfillment of wishes, and prosperity.
Maha Ashtami on March 26, Ram Navami on March 27
Devotees will observe fasts and perform Durga Path, chanting, and rituals throughout the Navratri period.

The same day will also mark Ram Navami, celebrating the birth of Lord Ram.
Chaiti Chhath During Navratri
The festival of Chaiti Chhath will also be observed during this period from March 22 to March 25.

Religious Significance
According to religious beliefs, Chaitra Navratri is special because several important festivals occur during this period, including Nav Samvatsar, Gauri Tritiya fast, and Chaiti Chhath. Devotees worship Goddess Durga, Lord Surya, Lord Vishnu’s Matsya Avatar, and Lord Ram during these days.
Because of these spiritual and cultural observances, Chaitra Navratri is considered one of the most sacred festivals of the year.
