- Rupi Soren inaugurates the statue by pressing the ceremonial button during Shibu Soren’s first death anniversary programme in Nemra village
Jharkhand News : A commemorative programme marking the first death anniversary of Padma Bhushan and Dishom Guru Shibu Soren was held at his ancestral village, Nemra, in the Gola block of Ramgarh district on Tuesday. Chief Minister Hemant Soren attended the event along with his family and paid heartfelt tributes to his father.
As part of the programme, a life-size statue of Shibu Soren, installed near the Sona Sobaren Memorial High School, was unveiled. At the Chief Minister’s request, his mother, Rupi Soren, pressed the ceremonial button to unveil the statue. The Chief Minister, accompanied by his family, offered floral tributes and garlanded the statue in memory of the veteran tribal leader.
Among those present at the event were Hemant Soren’s wife Kalpana Murmu Soren, Finance Minister Radha Krishna Kishore, Ministers Yogendra Prasad, Deepika Pandey Singh, Shilpi Neha Tirkey and Sanjay Prasad Yadav, Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Mahua Maji, Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar, MLAs Mamta Devi, Umakant Rajak, Jai Mangal Singh alias Anoop Singh and Amit Mahato, former Minister Baby Devi, along with several public representatives, senior officials, party workers and local residents.
A large number of supporters and villagers gathered to pay homage to Dishom Guru Shibu Soren and remember his contribution to Jharkhand and its people.
