Jharkhand News : Fair Mines Carbon Private Limited, operating in the Pandwa block of Palamu district, is facing serious allegations of illegal coal mining and storage. These accusations have now been officially confirmed in a detailed report by the Circle Officer (CO) of Pandwa.

According to the CO’s report, the company illegally mined coal on over 14 acres of land without executing land registry or obtaining consent from the concerned raiyats (landowners). The report also states that Fair Mines conducted unauthorized coal excavation and illegal storage, both outside the legally approved mining zone.

Fair Mines has official permission to conduct mining operations on more than 280 acres in the Pandwa region. However, the CO’s field inquiry revealed that the company went beyond its authorized limit and carried out illegal mining on several private land plots.

Illegal Mining Detected on These Land Parcels

The CO’s report lists the following land parcels under Gram Pandwa where unauthorized operations were found:

All these areas reportedly witnessed illegal excavation and coal storage, making the operations a clear violation of mining regulations.

Local villagers and affected landowners claim that the company has been conducting illegal mining for several months without any government approval. They alleged that the mining activities damaged their land and surrounding environment, while no compensation was offered.

Residents have also questioned the role and monitoring efficiency of the local administration, asking how such large-scale illegal mining continued for months without official intervention. Many have demanded a high-level probe into the issue.

With the CO’s report now public, the matter has sparked major discussion across the Pandwa region. The district administration is expected to take further action against Fair Mines based on the findings.
