Commonwealth Chess Gold Medalist Adhiraj Mitra Meets Chief Minister Hemant Soren

Jharkhand News : Hemant Soren met Adhiraj Mitra, the Under-14 gold medal winner of the Commonwealth Chess Championship 2025, at the Chief Minister’s residential office on Kanke Road on Saturday.

During the courtesy meeting, Jamshedpur-based Adhiraj shared his experiences from the Commonwealth Chess Championship held in Malaysia from November 7 to 16, 2025. He informed the Chief Minister that several top players from Commonwealth nations participated in the prestigious tournament, making the competition highly challenging.

Adhiraj also mentioned that he is a Class VIII student of Loyola School Jamshedpur and balances his academics with regular chess practice.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren expressed happiness over his remarkable achievement and said that players from Jharkhand are consistently excelling at national and international levels, bringing pride to the state. He extended his best wishes to Adhiraj Mitra for a bright and successful future.

On the occasion, Adhiraj’s mother Runa Mitra, father Uttam Mitra, and his coach Abhishek Das were also present. The meeting concluded in a cordial atmosphere.
