Jharkhand News : A highly complex hip replacement surgery has been successfully performed at Paras HEC Hospital, Ranchi, marking a significant medical achievement. Remarkably, the patient was able to start walking within just 24 hours after the surgery.
The surgery was led by Dr. Vivek Kumar David, Consultant Orthopedic and Joint Replacement Surgeon at Paras HEC Hospital. The patient, an elderly woman, had suffered a severe hip fracture after a fall at home. Due to intense pain, she was unable to walk or even change posture, making the case extremely challenging.
Adding to the complexity, the patient had multiple allergies to medicines and metals, requiring special precautions during anesthesia and implant selection. A dedicated medical team comprising anesthesiologists, allergy specialists, and trained nursing staff conducted detailed preoperative evaluations and allergy tests. Based on these assessments, a special hypoallergenic implant and safe medications were selected to eliminate the risk of allergic reactions.
The surgery was completed successfully. With the help of advanced physiotherapy and fast-track recovery protocols, the patient began walking within 24 hours of the operation. Doctors confirmed that her condition is improving rapidly.
