Cyclone Mountha May Bring Heavy Rain in Jharkhand Till October 31

Jharkhand News : Due to Cyclone Mountha, heavy rainfall is expected in several districts of Jharkhand till October 31, according to Meteorologist Abhishek Anand on Wednesday.

He said the cyclone is likely to move northeastward over the east-central Arabian Sea in the coming days. Anand added that heavy rain may occur at a few places in northwestern and central parts of Jharkhand on Thursday.

Wind speeds are likely to reach 30–40 kmph, with possibilities of lightning in isolated areas. The Meteorological Department has issued a Yellow Alert in view of the situation. Heavy rainfall is also expected in the northeastern parts of the state on Friday.

In the past 24 hours, several districts of Jharkhand recorded rainfall, including Ranchi, Baharagora, and Daltonganj. On Wednesday morning, Ranchi and nearby areas experienced heavy downpour, leading to a drop in temperature.

The persistent rain has affected normal life — children faced difficulties in reaching schools, and daily routines were disrupted.

In the last 24 hours, the highest temperature was recorded in Godda at 33.8°C, while the lowest was in Latehar at 19.3°C. The maximum temperature in Ranchi was 29.4°C, in Jamshedpur 31.6°C, in Daltonganj 33.2°C, in Bokaro 32.2°C, and in Chaibasa 31.8°C.
