The first and most crucial step: avoid starting the day with tea and biscuits. Many people develop the habit of pairing sweet tea with biscuits, but this can be harmful for diabetics. Instead, if tea is a must, sugar-free sweeteners can be used. Replacing biscuits with a protein- and fiber-rich breakfast is a healthier choice, as breakfast sets the tone for the entire day.

Secondly, daily walking is highly beneficial. Diabetic patients should aim for at least 30 minutes of walking every day. If continuous walking feels difficult, it can be split into two 15-minute sessions — one after lunch and another after dinner. This helps prevent sudden spikes in blood sugar levels and eases the workload on the pancreas. Even light walking indoors is effective.

The third and most important factor is quality sleep. Diabetics should ensure 7–8 hours of uninterrupted rest. Poor sleep increases insulin resistance and leads to overeating the next day, which can destabilize blood sugar levels. Proper sleep not only restores energy but also helps the pancreas function better, allowing the body to manage glucose more efficiently.
