Jharkhand News : Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar expressed deep sorrow over the passing of former Chief Minister and iconic tribal leader Shibu Soren, fondly known as Dishom Guru. The Governor paid floral tributes to Soren’s mortal remains on Tuesday at the Jharkhand Assembly premises, and offered condolences to the grieving family members.
Speaking to the media, Governor Gangwar said,
“Dishom Guru Shibu Soren was a towering figure of public service and relentless struggle. His life was devoted to tribal identity, rights, and social upliftment.”
He further stated that Shibu Soren’s leadership gave a new direction to the empowerment and political awakening of tribal communities in Jharkhand and across India.
“Jharkhand will always remember him with respect and pride. His contributions in political, social, and cultural spheres are truly unforgettable,” the Governor added.
Shibu Soren, one of the founding figures of Jharkhand’s statehood movement, leaves behind a powerful legacy that shaped the political consciousness of indigenous communities. His passing marks the end of an era in Jharkhand’s tribal and political narrative.
