ESL Steel Advances SDG 3: Organises HIV/AIDS Awareness & Free Screening Camp to Empower Rural Health

Jharkhand News : As part of its flagship health initiative Project Aarogya, ESL Steel Limited organised a comprehensive HIV/AIDS Awareness and Free Testing Camp at Giddtand Modh (Near Plant Gate). The camp was held in collaboration with Citizens Foundation, One Stop Organisation, and the District Health Department, reaffirming ESL’s commitment to building healthier and more informed communities.

The initiative provided free and confidential HIV testing, counselling, and awareness sessions to nearly 30 beneficiaries, including truck drivers and outside labourers. The program aimed to promote early detection, reduce social stigma, and spread awareness about HIV prevention and treatment, encouraging individuals to take proactive steps toward their well-being.

In alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3, Good Health and Well-being, this initiative underscores ESL’s dedication to ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all, with a strong focus on preventive healthcare and community awareness.

Continuing its efforts under Project Aarogya, ESL Steel has so far organised three HIV/AIDS Awareness Camps in FY26, held in May, July, and October 2025 at Giddtand Modh and near plant gate locations. These camps collectively benefited over 100 individuals, including truck drivers and outside labourers, who received free health screenings and counselling services.

Speaking on the initiative, Mr. Kunal Daripa, CSR Head, ESL Steel Ltd., said, “At ESL, we believe that true progress begins with good health. Through Project Aarogya, our aim is to extend quality healthcare access to even the most remote corners of our community. This HIV/AIDS awareness drive reflects our continued commitment to preventive healthcare and building a more informed and resilient society”.
