Jharkhand News : Reaffirming its commitment to inclusive growth and community empowerment, ESL Steel Limited organised a CSR Felicitation Ceremony at the ESL Archery Ground in Bokaro, honouring beneficiaries who have shown remarkable progress through various community development initiatives.

The event, organised by ESL Steel’s CSR team, celebrated inspiring success stories across livelihood, agriculture, women entrepreneurship, education, nutrition, and sports. Beneficiaries were felicitated by ManCom members in the presence of senior leadership and community representatives.

Progressive Farmers Honoured under Project WADI

Under Project WADI, progressive farmers were recognised for adopting scientific and sustainable farming practices and for mobilising their communities.

  • Rajendra Kumar was felicitated for adopting intercropping techniques and strengthening sustainable agriculture in his village.
  • Shankar Manjhi, Manju Devi, and Kalpana Devi were also honoured for improving productivity and promoting long-term livelihood security through modern agricultural practices.

Promoting Women Entrepreneurship through Project JIVIKA

Under Project JIVIKA, women engaged in agarbatti and mushroom production were recognised for excellence in production, marketing, and enterprise development.

  • Sarifan Bibi and Savitri Devi were felicitated for building sustainable livelihood models.
  • Savitri Devi, in particular, was recognised for establishing her own mushroom farming enterprise, emerging as a symbol of financial self-reliance and women-led entrepreneurship in rural Jharkhand.

Education and Youth Empowerment

In the field of education and youth empowerment, Chandni Parveen from Chandaha was felicitated for her selection as a Constable in the Border Security Force (BSF). Her achievement was hailed as a proud moment for the community and a reflection of how education and opportunity can transform lives.

Celebrating Sporting Excellence

A special highlight of the ceremony was the felicitation of Ms. Doli Kumari, who won a Silver Medal in Archery at the National School Games in Ranchi. Her achievement brought pride to Jharkhand and showcased the impact of structured sports promotion. She was felicitated by Ravish Sharma, Deputy CEO and Whole-Time Director of ESL Steel Limited, in the presence of senior leadership.

Honouring Grassroots Women Leaders

The programme also recognised the tireless contribution of Sevikas and grassroots women leaders from multiple villages. These women were honoured for their role in improving child nutrition, strengthening early childhood care, spreading nutrition awareness, and mobilising communities toward healthier and self-reliant futures.
