Exploitation Can End Only Through Struggle, Unity Is Tribals’ Strength: Hemant Soren

Jharkhand News : Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday paid tribute to his father and Jharkhand movement leader Dishom Guru Shibu Soren at Nemra village on his first death anniversary. He said unity among tribals living in forest areas is their biggest strength and that struggle and movements against exploitation are the only way forward.

Speaking at the occasion, Soren said Dishom Guru Shibu Soren had shown the path of resistance against exploitation, and his message continues to guide society.

A statue of Shibu Soren was unveiled at the Sona Sobran High School premises in Lukaiyatand, near Nemra village, to mark his first death anniversary. Hemant Soren said the statue would help the present and future generations remember the struggles and sacrifices of their forebears and keep their history alive.

Hemant Soren Recalls Grandfather Sobran Manjhi

The Chief Minister also remembered his grandfather, Sobran Manjhi. He said his grandfather’s memorial is located in the forests of Lukaiyatand, the same place where Shibu Soren’s statue has now been installed.

Soren said his grandfather was brutally killed by anti-social elements and that incidents linked to exploitation continue to be reported even today. “The faces of those who exploit people may have changed, but their mindset remains the same,” he said.

New Generation Must Be Guided Towards Right Path

Hemant Soren said the present era belongs to the new generation, which is moving forward with determination. However, the younger generation faces both positive and negative influences, making it necessary to guide them in the right direction for a brighter future.

He said the ideals of Dishom Guru Shibu Soren continue to inspire the entire state and that people across Jharkhand are remembering him on his death anniversary.

Government Committed to Reaching Last Person

The Chief Minister said the responsibility of developing and strengthening the Jharkhand envisioned through Shibu Soren’s struggle now rests on the government and society. He said his government is committed to ensuring that the benefits of welfare schemes reach the last person.

He added that efforts are also being made to strengthen the system so that people can communicate their concerns and demands to the government more easily.

Forces Trying to Divide People Must Not Succeed

Soren said every corner of Jharkhand is filled with stories of brave ancestors who fought for freedom and struggled for their rights. Their descendants continue to live on this land.

“We have to fight not with our own people but against those who seek to divide us,” he said, urging people to remain united and not allow forces working to weaken social unity to succeed.
