Jharkhand News : Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (PVUNL) celebrated Independence Day with pride and enthusiasm at its campus in Patratu. The event commenced with the national flag hoisting by A.K. Sehgal, Chief Executive Officer of PVUNL, followed by a ceremonial parade by CISF, NCC, and the Fire Wing.

In his address, Mr. Sehgal highlighted PVUNL’s recent milestones, notably the successful full-load trial of the 800 MW unit, achieved while adhering to strict safety standards. He emphasized the importance of working for social upliftment and taking concrete steps toward sustainable development.
Mrs. Renu Sehgal, President of the Swarnrekha Mahila Samiti, distributed spectacles to students of Kasturba School. This was followed by captivating cultural performances by children from Bal Bhavan and Srijan. A special presentation by the bagpiper band of Kasturba Gandhi School won hearts, while CISF personnel thrilled the audience with an impressive combat demonstration based on Israeli martial art “Krav Maga.”
The event concluded with the distribution of awards including the Utkarsh Scholarship, CEO Merit Honors, and other recognitions. Additionally, the CEO handed over 11 motorized tricycles to specially-abled individuals. The celebration was attended by members of the PVUNL family, local dignitaries, and representatives from various organizations.
