Jharkhand News : Former Indian football team captain and internationally acclaimed player Bhaichung Bhutia met Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren at the CM’s residential office on Saturday. The courtesy meeting focused on the development of sports in Jharkhand, particularly football, enhancing training opportunities for players, and strengthening the sports infrastructure across the state.

Government Committed to Nurturing Sports Talent: CM

During the discussion, CM Hemant Soren emphasized the state’s commitment to promoting sports through its comprehensive sports policy. “Under the policy, athletes are being provided with scholarships, employment opportunities, high-quality coaching, and access to modern facilities. Special initiatives are also being taken to promote football and identify grassroots-level talent,” he said.

Mr. Bhutia shared valuable suggestions for encouraging football in the state and nurturing local talent. He praised Jharkhand for its vast sports potential and noted that the state has already produced players who have performed at national and international levels.

Welcoming Mr. Bhutia, the Chief Minister said, “Football is extremely popular among the youth of Jharkhand. The state government is actively working to strengthen the sport’s infrastructure and provide better training and opportunities to players.”
