Jharkhand News : In a major crackdown, police have busted a high-profile gambling racket operating inside the prestigious five-star Radisson Blu Hotel in Ranchi. The late-night raid on Tuesday led to the arrest of 10 individuals. All the accused were taken to Chutia Police Station for interrogation, and police confirmed they will be sent to jail after questioning.
Action Based on Secret Information
The case unfolded when DIG-cum-SSP Chandan Sinha received confidential information that a large-scale gambling operation was being run from a booked hotel room. Acting on the tip-off, the SSP formed a special team comprising police from Chutia, Kotwali, Lalpur, and Daily Market police stations.
Raid and Arrest in the Hotel
When the police team reached the Radisson Blu Hotel room, they found a full-fledged gambling session in progress. On spotting the police, the gamblers tried to flee, but the pre-planned cordon left them with no escape. All 10 individuals were caught on the spot. The police recovered a large amount of cash, several decks of playing cards, and other gambling paraphernalia from the room.

The fact that such a large gambling racket was operating openly inside a reputed hotel has raised serious questions about the hotel’s security protocols and management awareness. Authorities are investigating whether the hotel staff had prior knowledge of the illegal activity or deliberately ignored it.
