Jharkhand News : Political activities have intensified ahead of the Ghatsila Assembly by-election. On Thursday, a massive public rally was held at Gandhania Haat Maidan in Dampada under Ghatsila block in support of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) alliance candidate Somesh Chandra Soren. The event was attended by Gandey MLA and wife of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Kalpana Soren, as the chief guest.
Crowds began gathering at the venue since morning, and by afternoon, the ground was filled with JMM flags, posters, and slogans echoing in support of the party’s symbol — the bow and arrow. On reaching the stage, Kalpana Soren was warmly welcomed by party workers.
Addressing the gathering, Kalpana Soren said that the land of Ghatsila has always been a symbol of Jharkhand’s pride and identity. She recalled the contributions of legendary leaders like Dishom Guru Shibu Soren and Ramdas Soren, whose struggles helped establish Jharkhand’s identity.
She emphasized that offering floral tributes to such leaders is not enough; true tribute would be ensuring a massive victory for the JMM candidate Somesh Chandra Soren in the upcoming by-election. “Ghatsila’s honour, pride, and identity lie in the bow and arrow — and strengthening it is our collective responsibility,” she said.
Urging voters to unite and support the alliance candidate, she added that the Jharkhand government continues to work for the empowerment of the poor, farmers, youth, and women, ensuring that the trust of the people remains unbroken.
Several senior JMM leaders, local office-bearers, block and panchayat-level workers attended the rally. The event also saw enthusiastic participation from local villagers, women’s groups, and youth wings.
