Jharkhand News : A tragic incident occurred in Jharkhand’s Giridih district on Wednesday when two teenagers drowned in the Godavari Triveni Sangam pond located on the border of the Jamua–Deori area.
Both victims were residents of Chatro Bazaar under Deori police station. Khori Mahua SDPO Rajendra Prasad confirmed that the two children died due to drowning.
Went for Bath After Playing Holi
According to information, Karan Kumar, son of Sanjay Saw from Chatro village, and Deepak Kumar, son of Krishna Vishwakarma from Purnigadia village, had gone to the Triveni Sangam pond with friends to bathe after celebrating Holi in Chatro Bazaar.
During the bath, both teenagers reportedly moved into deeper water and drowned.
Bodies Recovered After Hours of Search
After receiving information about the incident, local residents immediately began searching in the pond. Later, a team of divers from Khandoli also arrived at the spot.
After nearly two and a half to three hours of search, both boys were pulled out of the water and rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared them dead.
Village in Mourning
The incident has left the entire area in shock. When the bodies were brought back to their villages, grief spread among the residents and the families of the victims were inconsolable.
