Jharkhand News : Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir, Dhurwa, Ranchi, organized a grand ‘Arunodaya’ Magazine Launch and Acharya (Teacher) Felicitation Ceremony-2026 on Wednesday to mark the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima. The event, held at the Keshav Auditorium under the aegis of the Shishu Vikas Mandir Samiti (Jharkhand), also witnessed the inauguration of a newly constructed shooting range on the school campus.

Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar attended the ceremony as the chief guest, while Shreesh Devpujari, All India Publicity Head of Sanskrit Bharati, and former Rajya Sabha MP Sameer Oraon were the guests of honor. The program began with the national anthem, lighting of the ceremonial lamp, and Saraswati Vandana.
Shishu Vikas Mandir Samiti President Dr. Narendra Dev Goswami welcomed the Governor by presenting him with a traditional shawl, a memento, and a sapling. The other distinguished guests were also felicitated in the same manner.
The newly established shooting range was inaugurated by Shreesh Devpujari and Sameer Oraon. School authorities said the facility will provide students with professional training in shooting and other sports activities.
The school’s annual magazine ‘Arunodaya’ was introduced by its editor Priyadarshi Kashyap, who highlighted its role in encouraging students’ creativity and literary expression. The magazine was then formally released by the dignitaries.
Teachers Shape Character and Culture
Addressing the gathering, Shreesh Devpujari spoke about the contributions of Maharishi Ved Vyasa to India’s knowledge tradition. He said teachers in the Saraswati Shishu Mandir tradition are known as Acharyas, who not only impart knowledge but also nurture values and character. He urged educators to focus on cultural preservation and character building among the younger generation.
Former Rajya Sabha MP Sameer Oraon said the institution has been playing a significant role in nation-building by combining academics with sports, personality development, and patriotic values. He praised the school’s modern infrastructure and sports facilities.
Governor Highlights NEP 2020
Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar extended Guru Purnima greetings and emphasized that teachers play the most vital role in shaping students’ personalities and the nation’s future. He noted that Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir, Dhurwa, established in 1970, has grown into a leading institution providing quality education, discipline, and value-based learning to nearly 3,000 students.
Highlighting the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the Governor said it encourages creativity, innovation, research, and character development among students. He described Arunodaya as an effective platform for showcasing students’ talent and creativity and encouraged students to set ambitious goals, remain disciplined, and always place national interest above personal interests.
“Teachers are the true architects of the nation, and the country’s bright future is secure in their hands,” the Governor said.
Senior Teachers Felicitated
During the ceremony, senior teachers were honored with traditional shawls and mementos in recognition of their contributions to education and society. The event concluded with the national anthem and was attended by office bearers of the Shishu Vikas Mandir Samiti, school faculty, parents, and a large number of students.
