Jharkhand news : A shocking incident involving the assault of an 11-year-old child in the Barhi police station area of Hazaribagh district has sparked widespread outrage after a video of the incident went viral on social media. Taking serious note of the matter, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday directed the Hazaribagh police to take immediate action. Acting swiftly on the Chief Minister’s instructions, the police arrested the accused without delay.

The incident occurred during a dispute between two children while playing cricket. Following the argument, the father of one child, identified as Alok Gupta, allegedly assaulted the other minor. The entire incident was recorded by a bystander, and the video later surfaced on social media on December 17, drawing strong public reaction.

After the video went viral, Chief Minister Hemant Soren acknowledged the incident on social media platform X and ordered strict action against the accused. Subsequently, the Barhi police formed a special team and launched a search operation.

According to SDPO Barhi Ajit Kumar Vimal, after receiving a written complaint from the victim’s mother, the police arrested Alok Gupta near Yuvraj Hotel. The accused is a resident of Harinagar, Gaya Road, under the Barhi police station jurisdiction.

Following the arrest, the police conducted a road march with the accused. Officials stated that the move was intended to send a strong message against violence and inhumane behavior toward children. Police authorities reiterated that any form of violence against minors will be dealt with strictly under the law.
