Jharkhand News : In a significant step towards improving rural healthcare access, Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (PVUNL) launched a Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) under its Community Development (CD) initiatives. The unit was officially inaugurated today by A.K. Sehgal, Chief Executive Officer of PVUNL. The launch event was attended by local public representatives, PVUNL officials, and members of the medical team.
This mobile healthcare clinic project has been initiated for a period of three years, aiming to provide regular healthcare services to 13 nearby villages surrounding the PVUNL project site.
The Mobile Medical Unit will operate 24 days a month, offering free medical consultations, general health check-ups, distribution of essential medicines, and basic pathological tests through kits — directly in the villages.
The MMU is staffed with a qualified doctor, trained nurse, and pharmacist/compounder, ensuring that essential primary healthcare is made accessible to underserved rural populations.
This initiative is expected to benefit approximately 1.2 lakh (120,000) villagers. PVUNL’s move marks a significant commitment to delivering quality healthcare at the doorstep of rural communities and improving overall well-being in the region.
