HEC Employees Unpaid for 31 Months, Management Faces Criticism

Jharkhand News : Employees and workers of Heavy Engineering Corporation (HEC) have been struggling with unpaid salaries for a long time. According to Ramashankar Prasad, General Secretary of the HEC Workers’ Union, workers have not received salaries for 28 months, and officers for 31 months.

The union alleges that while employees face financial difficulties, the management is spending lakhs on facilities for directors. Workers are struggling to support their families and pay for medical treatment, while management is planning new private vehicles, lifts, mineral water, large TVs, and luxurious offices for directors.

Workers’ quarters are in a dilapidated state. During rains, houses get flooded, and there are electric issues in walls, but repairs are not being done. Basic facilities such as drinking water and toilets are missing at workplaces, causing particular difficulties for female employees.

The union has demanded immediate salary payment and improvements in medical facilities from the central government. Workers warn that if the issue is not resolved soon, the situation could become more serious.
