Jharkhand News : On the occasion of the 80th Independence Day, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren unfurled the national flag and inspected the parade at Morabadi Maidan in Ranchi on Saturday. In his address, he highlighted the state’s priorities concerning JPSC-JSSC examinations, youth, employment, agriculture, women’s empowerment and healthcare.
Soren said Jharkhand is not merely a state but the centre of India’s tribal consciousness. He said the state’s identity should be built not only around its mineral wealth but also around traditional knowledge, cultural richness, sustainable use of natural resources and development based on social justice.
Special Focus on Youth and Examination System
The Chief Minister said the biggest strength of Jharkhand over the next 25 years would be its youth. Their education, skills, confidence and aspirations are the real capital of a developed Jharkhand.
He said lakhs of young people are working hard to fulfil their dreams, while their parents are making efforts beyond their means to provide them with education. Therefore, ensuring justice for their hard work and talent is the government’s highest responsibility.
Referring to questions being raised over recruitment examinations, Soren said doubts about the examination system do not affect only one examination but also impact the confidence of an entire generation.
He assured students that their hard work would not be left at the mercy of any mafia, corrupt system or irregularity.
Fair Investigation and Strict Action Against Guilty
Soren said examination-related cases would be investigated fairly and anyone found guilty would face strict action under the law. He said that regardless of how influential a person may be, no one would be spared if their involvement is established.
At the same time, he said nobody would be declared guilty without evidence. He stressed that justice would be delivered and it would be fair.
The Chief Minister said catching the guilty alone would not provide a permanent solution. The real solution is to build an examination system in which nobody can dare to compromise the dreams of young people in the future.
Focus on a Transparent Examination System
Soren said the government is moving towards comprehensive reforms in the examination system. The focus will include a time-bound annual examination calendar, transparent and technology-secured examination processes, timely publication of answer keys and OMR sheets, and multi-level accountability.
He said the government wants to create a system where transparency is not an exception but the rule.
For this purpose, the government has launched the ‘Students’ Voice—With Students’ campaign. Soren urged students, teachers, educationists and parents to become partners in the examination reform process.
He said suggestions received from students would be studied with experts, and suggestions compatible with rules and constitutional provisions would be considered for implementation.
Focus on Creating New Employment Opportunities
The Chief Minister said employment remains one of the government’s top priorities. The objective is not limited to filling government vacancies but also to create large-scale employment opportunities in industries, MSMEs, agriculture, dairy, fisheries, tourism, digital services and startups.
He said recruitment processes through JPSC, JSSC and other recruitment agencies would be taken forward in a time-bound manner in the coming period.
Soren urged young people to maintain faith in their hard work and said their efforts would not go in vain. He assured them that the government would work towards an examination system trusted by both candidates and society.
Plan to Make Agriculture Profitable
Soren said the soul of Jharkhand lies in its fields and farmers are a strong foundation of the state’s economy. The government is working to strengthen farmers through irrigation, seeds, support prices, farm mechanisation and various schemes.
He said around 2.15 lakh acres have been brought under plantation under the Birsa Harit Gram Yojana, while nearly three lakh families have been connected with new livelihood opportunities. Mangoes produced under the scheme have also been exported to foreign countries.
The Chief Minister said the government wants to transform farmers into agricultural entrepreneurs rather than limiting them to paddy cultivation. The plan includes promoting fruits and vegetables, horticulture, dairy, fisheries, poultry, goat farming, beekeeping, lac, tasar, millets, medicinal plants and minor forest produce-based economies.
Women’s Empowerment and Healthcare Remain Priorities
Soren said the progress of any society is impossible without women’s participation. The government is continuously working in the areas of social security, education, nutrition, healthcare and economic empowerment.
Referring to the Mukhyamantri Maiya Samman Yojana, he said the scheme has provided economic support to women for the past three years. Under the scheme, regular financial assistance of ₹2,500 per month has helped women move towards economic self-reliance and develop entrepreneurship.
On healthcare, the Chief Minister said the government is strengthening modern hospitals, medical colleges, nursing education, digital health services, telemedicine and primary healthcare.
He said work is also underway to open medicine shops in panchayats and provide dedicated ambulance services to all panchayats. The services will be operated through local village and panchayat representatives.
The Chief Minister said construction of Super Specialty RIMS-2 is underway. He added that action is also being taken for the construction of six new medical colleges in East Singhbhum, Khunti, Giridih, Deoghar, Jamtara and Dhanbad.
Balancing Development with Nature and Tradition
Hemant Soren said the government wants to build a Jharkhand where development is measured not merely by tall buildings but by better opportunities, and where progress is visible in the lives of ordinary people rather than only in statistics.
He called upon the youth to write a new identity for Jharkhand and take the state to new heights. On Independence Day, he urged people to resolve to build a prosperous, sensitive, modern, rooted and just Jharkhand.
The Chief Minister paid tribute to Birsa Munda, Sidho-Kanhu, Tilka Manjhi, Phulo-Jhano, Chand-Bhairav, Sheikh Bhikhari, Nilamber-Pitamber, Binod Bihari Mahato, Nirmal Mahato and Dishom Guru Shibu Soren, among other prominent personalities, and said the government remains committed to building Jharkhand in accordance with their vision and ideals.
