Hyva Truck Crash Kills Four from Same Family in Garhwa, Scorpio Smashed

Jharkhand News : A devastating road accident claimed the lives of four young men from the same family late Sunday night in Jharkhand’s Garhwa district. The incident occurred near Belchampa village under Garhwa police station limits, where an unknown Hyva truck rammed head-on into a Scorpio SUV, killing all occupants on the spot.

The impact was so severe that the Scorpio was completely crushed, trapping the bodies inside the wreckage. The deceased have been identified as Narendra Kumar Paswan (30), Jitendra Paswan (28), Badal Paswan (20), and Vikki Kumar (18). All four were close relatives.

Returning from Engagement Ceremony

According to officials, the victims were returning in the Scorpio from Shribanshidhar Nagar police station area’s Bilaspur village, where they had attended the engagement ceremony of Jitendra Paswan’s maternal cousin. While heading home late at night, a speeding Hyva truck struck their vehicle near Belchampa.

After the collision, the Scorpio was mangled and pushed to the roadside, while the Hyva truck driver fled the scene with the vehicle.

Bodies Retrieved Using Cutter

On receiving information, Garhwa Police Station rushed to the spot. Rescue teams used cutter machines to slice open the wrecked vehicle and recover the bodies after strenuous efforts. The bodies were then sent for post-mortem to Garhwa Sadar Hospital.

Scenes of grief unfolded at the hospital as family members arrived. The sight of the young men’s bodies plunged relatives and locals into deep mourning.

Public Anger Over Speeding Heavy Vehicles

The tragedy has sparked anger among local residents, who allege that speeding Hyva trucks and heavy vehicles ply recklessly on the Garhwa–Rehla road at night. They said repeated complaints have failed to bring strict enforcement.

Police said a manhunt is underway to trace the unidentified Hyva truck. Footage from nearby CCTV cameras is being examined to identify the vehicle and the absconding driver. Authorities assured that strict action will follow once the culprit is traced.
