Jharkhand News : A major road accident occurred late Monday night near the Bengal Club on Sakchi Main Road. A speeding Hyundai Verna car rammed into a Scorpio that was parked along the roadside. The impact of the collision was so severe that within moments both vehicles caught fire, turning the entire area into a scene of chaos.
Flames erupted suddenly, causing panic
Eyewitnesses reported that immediately after the crash, smoke began rising from the Verna’s bonnet. Within seconds, flames spread rapidly to both vehicles. The sudden blaze triggered panic among passersby and people nearby, forcing them to move to a safe distance. The incident was quickly reported to the fire department and local police.
Fire brigade arrived, but both vehicles were already destroyed
A fire brigade team from Sakchi rushed to the spot, but by the time they arrived, the fire had engulfed both cars entirely. Despite efforts to control the blaze, the flames had already reduced the Scorpio and Verna to ashes.
Two youths in the Verna fled the scene
According to those present, two young men traveling in the Verna managed to escape immediately after the crash. They fled before the fire intensified. Their identities remain unknown.
Scorpio owner was dining nearby
The Scorpio belonged to Roshan Singh, a resident of Golmuri Namda Basti. At the time of the incident, he and his family were dining at a nearby restaurant. Upon receiving the news, he rushed downstairs only to find his vehicle completely burnt.
Police begin investigation; CCTV footage being reviewed
Considering the seriousness of the matter, the police have registered a case and begun the investigation. CCTV cameras installed in the vicinity are being checked to trace the sequence of events and identify the youths seen fleeing the spot.
The incident has sparked concern over reckless driving and night-time road safety in the Sakchi area.
