Jharkhand News : The Jharkhand Assembly budget session is scheduled to begin on February 18 (Wednesday). To ensure smooth and peaceful proceedings, an all-party meeting was held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Assembly Speaker Ravindranath Mahto.
After the meeting, Speaker Mahto said that detailed discussions were held with all political parties and officials to ensure orderly and effective functioning of the House. It was decided that government bills, reports, and other documents will be made available to the Assembly on time. Clear instructions were also issued to provide answers to pending questions promptly.
The meeting also reviewed the state’s healthcare system and law and order situation. The Speaker urged all parties to have serious and constructive discussions on these important issues so that effective solutions for public welfare could be achieved.
Mahto further stated that Jharkhand municipal elections are scheduled for February 23. Therefore, the Parliamentary Affairs Committee will decide whether the House proceedings will be suspended on February 23 to allow legislators to fulfill their election duties in their constituencies.
The all-party meeting was attended by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Leader of the Opposition Babulal Marandi, representatives of All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU), the Congress legislative party leader, and members of other political parties. The Speaker appealed for cooperation from all parties and emphasized that a positive role from both the ruling and opposition is essential for the strength of democracy.
