Jharkhand Boosts Eco-Tourism: CM Emphasizes Infrastructure & Jobs

Jharkhand News : Under the leadership of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, the fourth governing body meeting of the Jharkhand Eco-Tourism Authority (JETA) was held on Tuesday at the Chief Minister’s office in the state assembly. The CM directed officials to identify sites with high eco-tourism potential and ensure the development of quality tourism infrastructure.

The Chief Minister instructed the officials from the Forest, Tourism, and Water Resources departments to coordinate and prepare a comprehensive action plan for the promotion of eco-tourism across the state. He highlighted that Jharkhand is naturally beautiful, and eco-tourism can become a powerful tool for local employment generation and economic growth.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on developing eco-tourism in sites like Maithon, Netarhat, Patratu, Chaibasa, Dumka, and Ranchi. The officials also discussed implementing the Masanjor model for eco-tourism development in Patratu.

CM Hemant Soren emphasized preparing a comprehensive implementation plan and ensuring execution within the set timeline. He stressed that major religious sites, forests, rivers, reservoirs, and hilly areas should be developed with tourism facilities while maintaining environmental balance, making it a state government priority.

The meeting was attended by Tourism, Art & Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Sudivya Kumar, Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar, Secretary of Forest, Environment & Climate Change Abu Bakar Siddiqui, Secretary of Water Resources Prashant Kumar, Secretary of Tourism Department Mukesh Kumar, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Sanjeev Kumar, Principal Chief Wildlife Conservator S.R. Natesh, and representatives from Ecotourism India.
