Severe Cold Grips Jharkhand, Fog and Cold Wave Alert in 14 Districts

Jharkhand News : Cold conditions are set to intensify across Jharkhand in the coming days. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Ranchi, fog is likely to clear from Tuesday, but this will pave the way for a stronger cold wave across several parts of the state. Due to cold northerly winds, minimum temperatures may drop by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius.

Weather scientist Abhishek Anand said that as fog reduces, cold winds from the northern region will become more effective. Over the next four days, cold wave conditions are expected in rural areas of Ranchi, Medininagar, Koderma, Gumla, Hazaribagh, Khunti, Lohardaga and Latehar districts. People are likely to experience severe cold, especially during early mornings and nighttime.

Meanwhile, dense fog continued to disrupt air services on Monday. Visibility was recorded at 600 meters in Ranchi, 400 meters in Palamu and just 300 meters in Jamshedpur. Due to poor visibility, four flights scheduled to arrive in Ranchi were cancelled.

Several flights from cities including Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad also faced significant delays in arrival and departure. The weather department has advised residents to remain alert and take necessary precautions to protect themselves from the cold.
