Jharkhand News : The Jharkhand Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, approved 33 major proposals in its meeting held on Monday. Key decisions ranged from the paddy procurement rate and government holidays to festivals, road projects, universities, health, and mining-related approvals.
Cabinet Secretary Vandana Dadel informed that the state government will now purchase paddy from farmers at ₹2450 per quintal, which includes a special state assistance of ₹100 per quintal. The Cabinet also approved the Jharkhand State Paddy Procurement Scheme for the Kharif marketing season 2025–26 and subsequent years.
A total of ₹48.60 crore was sanctioned for bonus payments to farmers. The combined MSP and bonus amount brings the total procurement rate to ₹2450 per quintal.
🟩 Revised Guidelines for State Fairs and Festivals
The Cabinet approved revised guidelines for organizing state-recognized fairs and festivals. Under the notification, 13 major fairs/festivals have been granted the status of state festivals, including:

As per guidelines, normally only one state fair shall be recognized in each district, unless special circumstances arise and the Cabinet grants approval.
🟩 Government Holidays for 2026 Approved
The Cabinet approved 21 official government holidays for the year 2026.
Since Mahashivratri (15 Feb), Diwali (8 Nov), and Chhath Sandhya Arghya (15 Nov) fall on a Sunday, no separate holiday has been declared for these dates.
