Jharkhand Cabinet Clears 33 Proposals, Sets Paddy Rate at ₹2450/quintal

Jharkhand News : The Jharkhand Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, approved 33 major proposals in its meeting held on Monday. Key decisions ranged from the paddy procurement rate and government holidays to festivals, road projects, universities, health, and mining-related approvals.

Cabinet Secretary Vandana Dadel informed that the state government will now purchase paddy from farmers at ₹2450 per quintal, which includes a special state assistance of ₹100 per quintal. The Cabinet also approved the Jharkhand State Paddy Procurement Scheme for the Kharif marketing season 2025–26 and subsequent years.

A total of ₹48.60 crore was sanctioned for bonus payments to farmers. The combined MSP and bonus amount brings the total procurement rate to ₹2450 per quintal.

🟩 Revised Guidelines for State Fairs and Festivals

The Cabinet approved revised guidelines for organizing state-recognized fairs and festivals. Under the notification, 13 major fairs/festivals have been granted the status of state festivals, including:

Baidyanath Mahotsav (Deoghar)
Basukinath Mahotsav (Deoghar)
Maghi Mela (Rajmahal)
Hijla Mela (Dumka)
Chhau Mahotsav (Saraikela-Kharsawan)
Luguburu Mahotsav (Bokaro)
Republic Day Mahotsav (Godda)
Adiwasi Mahakumbh Vikas Mela (Palamu)
Shri Vanshidhar Mahotsav (Garhwa)
Sira Sita Mela (Gumla)
Shri Ramrekha Mahotsav (Simdega)

As per guidelines, normally only one state fair shall be recognized in each district, unless special circumstances arise and the Cabinet grants approval.

🟩 Government Holidays for 2026 Approved

The Cabinet approved 21 official government holidays for the year 2026.
Since Mahashivratri (15 Feb), Diwali (8 Nov), and Chhath Sandhya Arghya (15 Nov) fall on a Sunday, no separate holiday has been declared for these dates.

🟩 Health & Education Decisions

Associate Professors at RIMS, Ranchi promoted to Professors with effect from 1 August 2019.
Internship stipend increased for students of Government Homeopathic Medical College, Godda.
Dr. Prabhu Sahay Linda (Godda Sadar Hospital) released from service.

Minister’s Awareness Ride Overshadowed by Pending E-Challans
Dr. Anjana Gandhi (Shiekh Bhikhari Medical College, Hazaribagh) dismissed from service.

🟩 Major Infrastructure & Road Projects Approved

Several major road widening and strengthening projects got Cabinet approval:

Godda (Ghatbankha–Dama Road) – ₹127.54 crore
Sahibganj (Digdhi Mode–Malin Risaud Road) – ₹61.57 crore
High-level bridge on North Koel River, Chainpur – ₹64.60 crore
Bankutoli–Kurukura Bano Road (Gumla) – ₹140.51 crore
Ranchi 4-lane Flyover (Sirmtoli–Rajendra Chowk–Mecon Roundabout) – ₹470.12 crore

🟩 Mining-Related Approvals

NTPC granted 30-year lease for 94.5 acres of land in Hazaribagh and Barkagaon areas for the Badam Coal Mining Project.
Amendments approved in the Jharkhand Mineral Bearing Land Tax Act–2024.

🟩 Key Decisions in Higher Education

Degree College, Balumath (Latehar) – ₹38.82 crore
Degree College, Simaria (Chatra) – ₹34.62 crore
Reorganization of academic and non-academic posts in Ranchi University
Pancham, Chhatha & Saptam Pay Structure approved for Sanskrit colleges’ staff
