Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren Congratulates Ravi Raj Murmu on Winning 72nd National Film Award

Jharkhand News : Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Sunday congratulated Ravi Raj Murmu, director of the Santali film Aangen, for winning the 72nd National Film Award in the Best Debut Director category.

In a press release issued by the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, Soren extended his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the young filmmaker, describing the achievement as a moment of pride not only for Murmu but also for the people of Jharkhand and the Santali language.

“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Ravi Raj Murmu on this remarkable achievement. Winning this prestigious National Film Award is not only a personal milestone for him but also a matter of great pride for the people of Jharkhand and the Santali language. Through his film Aangen, he has beautifully showcased the richness of Santali language, culture, and storytelling on the national stage,” the Chief Minister said.

Soren added that the honour reflects the emergence of outstanding creative talent from Jharkhand and further strengthens the state’s growing identity as a vibrant centre for art, culture, and indigenous cinema.

Expressing confidence in Murmu’s future, the Chief Minister said the filmmaker’s success would inspire young directors and artists across Jharkhand to preserve and promote the state’s rich cultural heritage through meaningful cinema.
