Jharkhand News : Jharkhand’s young karate talents delivered a spectacular performance on the second day of the WMSKF All India Karate Championship held at Chowk Stadium, Lucknow, on July 19 and 20, 2025. Competitors from several states including West Bengal, Goa, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Haryana, and Jharkhand participated in this prestigious national event.

Jharkhand bagged a total of six medals on the second day. In the Sub-Junior -35 kg category, Sampoorna Vaibhav clinched the gold medal with a dominant performance. Vaishnavi Kumari, also in the -35 kg Sub-Junior category, secured another gold for Jharkhand.

In the -25 kg category, Sanskriti Vardhan won a bronze medal, while Nandini Kumari brought home a bronze in the -20 kg weight class. Lavanya Raj, competing in the -54 kg sub-junior category, also secured a bronze medal.
These impressive victories not only raised the state’s pride but also demonstrated the potential and discipline of Jharkhand’s emerging karate talents.
President of the Jharkhand Karate Association, Mr. Naveen Prasad Sahu, congratulated the players for their hard work and excellent performance. He announced that an official felicitation ceremony would soon be organized to honor the medal winners. He expressed his hope that these players would continue to raise Jharkhand’s flag in national and international arenas.
He also extended his gratitude to Team Manager Prakash Ravidas for his dedicated support to the team. Mr. Sahu appreciated Ravidas’s consistent efforts in mentoring and motivating the young athletes and encouraged him to continue sharing his experience with the upcoming generation of players.
This strong performance by Jharkhand at the national level is expected to inspire many more children in the state to take up martial arts. The championship success is seen as a stepping stone for the state to aim for higher achievements at international platforms.
