Jharkhand News : Heavy rainfall is likely to affect several parts of Jharkhand from August 29 to September 1. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for multiple districts, warning of heavy rain, lightning and strong winds with speeds of 30 to 40 kmph.
The weather department has advised people to remain alert as different parts of the state are expected to experience changing weather conditions over the next few days.
Heavy Rain Forecast for Several Districts
According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rainfall may occur at isolated places in Dumka, Deoghar, Jamtara and Giridih in northeastern Jharkhand on August 29. Heavy rain is also likely in adjoining Dhanbad and the southeastern districts of East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharsawan.
On August 30, heavy rainfall is expected at some places in the eastern parts of the state.
Rainfall Alert for August 31 and September 1
On August 31, heavy rainfall may occur in northeastern and adjoining central districts, including Dhanbad, Bokaro, Ramgarh, Hazaribagh and Koderma. Heavy rain is also likely in the southeastern districts.
On September 1, isolated heavy rainfall is expected in northwestern and adjoining central districts, including Lohardaga, Gumla, Ranchi and Khunti. Parts of southern Jharkhand may also receive heavy rain.
Lightning and Strong Winds Also Expected
The weather department has warned that lightning and strong winds with speeds of 30 to 40 kmph may accompany heavy rainfall in the affected districts. People have been advised to remain cautious.
During the past 24 hours, the highest rainfall in the state was recorded at Dumaria in East Singhbhum at 74.2 mm. The highest temperature of 36 degrees Celsius was recorded at Baharagora, while Latehar recorded the lowest temperature at 22 degrees Celsius.
Ranchi Remains Cloudy
Ranchi and nearby areas remained cloudy since Friday morning, with light drizzle reported at some places.
On Friday, Ranchi recorded a maximum temperature of 30 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 22.8 degrees Celsius. Jamshedpur recorded a maximum of 34 degrees and a minimum of 25.4 degrees Celsius.
Daltonganj recorded a maximum temperature of 34.2 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 26 degrees. Bokaro recorded 31.5 degrees Celsius as the maximum and 26.6 degrees as the minimum.
Chaibasa recorded a maximum temperature of 35.4 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 24.2 degrees Celsius.
The Meteorological Department has appealed to people to take special precautions due to the possibility of continuous rainfall and lightning.
