Ranchi: Asim Mandal alias ‘Akash’, one of the prominent faces of the Maoist organisation in West Bengal and carrying a reward of ₹1 crore, has reportedly left the command of his armed squad.
According to sources, Akash has stepped down from the leadership of his group and disbanded the armed squad. He has reportedly advised his associates to move to different safe locations.
Akash Took Key Responsibility After Kishenji’s Death
After the death of Kishenji, Akash was given an important responsibility within the organisation in West Bengal. He subsequently emerged as a prominent face of Maoist activities in the state.
However, sources now claim that Akash has left the command of the organisation and disbanded his armed group.
Security Agencies Monitoring Developments
Following the reported move, security agencies are keeping a close watch on Akash’s associates and their possible hideouts.
However, there has been no official confirmation so far that Akash has completely severed ties with the organisation.
