Maoists Call Jharkhand Shutdown on October 15; Security Tightened Across State

Jharkhand News : The Maoists have announced a statewide shutdown in Jharkhand on October 15 as part of their “Resistance Week” beginning Wednesday. Following the announcement, the state administration has gone on high alert, implementing extensive security measures to prevent any untoward incidents.

Police and paramilitary forces have been deployed in large numbers across sensitive areas to ensure that citizens can carry on their daily activities without fear. Senior police officials have appealed to the public not to pay attention to rumors, assuring that normal life will not be disrupted.

The state government and security agencies have prioritized safety arrangements, intensifying vigilance particularly in border districts adjoining Bihar, Chhattisgarh, and West Bengal. Security forces have also been placed on standby to respond swiftly to any possible threats.

Officials said that due to recent successful anti-Maoist operations, insurgent activities have now been confined to a few limited areas. Despite the call for bandh, authorities remain confident that the situation will remain under control.
