Massive Devotee Turnout Expected at Baba Baidyanath Dham on First Monday of Sawan

Jharkhand News : Baba Baidyanath Dham in Deoghar is gearing up to witness a massive influx of devotees on the first Monday of the holy month of Sawan. Thousands of Kanwariyas were already seen making their way towards Deoghar on Sunday after collecting holy water from Sultanganj, hoping to offer it to Lord Shiva on Monday.

Light rainfall on Sunday provided much-needed relief to Kanwariyas undertaking the long journey and helped them regain energy. A significant increase in the number of devotees was witnessed compared to the previous few days. The entire Baba Nagari echoed with chants of “Bol Bam” and “Har Har Mahadev,” creating a deeply devotional atmosphere.

District Administration Steps Up Preparations

The district administration has made extensive arrangements ahead of the first Monday of Sawan. Under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Saurabh Kumar Bhuvaniya, officials inspected the Kanwariya route, route lines, Amanat Ghar, temple entry and exit gates, and other key locations on Sunday morning.

During the inspection, officials reviewed the arrangements and issued necessary directions to officers and personnel deployed on duty to ensure smooth crowd management and the safety of devotees.

At a briefing meeting held on Saturday, officials estimated that more than two lakh devotees could offer water to Baba Baidyanath on the first Monday of Sawan. Keeping the expected turnout in mind, arrangements for security, crowd control, healthcare, drinking water, sanitation and other essential facilities have been put in place.

Kanwariya Footfall Rises Ahead of First Monday

By Sunday evening, thousands of Kanwariyas had entered Deoghar district and were moving towards the temple. The rising crowd indicated that Baba Nagari could witness an unprecedented gathering of devotees on the first Monday.

The district administration and police have remained fully alert and are working to ensure that devotees can complete their pilgrimage and offer water at Baba Baidyanath Temple safely and smoothly.
