Jharkhand News : Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir, Dhurwa, Ranchi, on Sunday organised the Meritorious Students Felicitation and Parents’ Honour Ceremony–2026 to recognise students who excelled in the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations. Parents of the high achievers were also honoured for their support and contribution to their children’s academic success.

The programme was attended by Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Singh, Chancellor of Sikkim Skill University, South Sikkim, as the Chief Guest, while Dr. Milind, former Pro-Vice Chancellor of Usha Martin University, Ranchi, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. School Principal Lalan Kumar introduced the dignitaries.

The event began with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp and floral tributes. The guests were felicitated with shawls, mementoes and Tulsi saplings by Pawan Mantri and Akhileshwar Nath Mishra.
Addressing the gathering, S. Venkat Raman, Minister of the Shishu Vikas Mandir Samiti, said parents are a child’s first teachers and that honouring them is a matter of pride for the institution. He emphasised that students’ achievements are the result of the combined efforts of families and the school.
The Chief Guest felicitated the top-performing students, including Sameeksha, who secured 97.2% to top the Science stream in Class 12, Avishka Singh, who scored 90.8% to top the Commerce stream, and Om Kumar, who achieved 87% in the Arts stream. In Class 10, Tulshika Paritripti emerged as the school topper with 95% marks.
Students securing 85% and above in the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations were presented with mementoes and certificates, while their parents received traditional shawls in recognition of their encouragement and support.
In his address, Dr. Milind, an alumnus of Saraswati Vidya Mandir, said the values and discipline imparted by the institution continue to guide him in life. He urged students to embrace courage, determination and perseverance as the keys to success.
The cultural programme featured a solo rendition of the patriotic song Nirmaanon Ke Paavan Yug Mein by Class 10 student Aditya Kumar.
Delivering the keynote address, Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Singh encouraged students to face life’s challenges with confidence, continuously improve their abilities and strive for excellence in every field.
Presiding over the function, Dr. Narendra Dev Goswami, President of the Shishu Vikas Mandir Samiti, highlighted the importance of discipline in shaping students’ character and future.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Lal Ashok Nath Shahdeo, Treasurer of the Shishu Vikas Mandir Samiti.
The programme was attended by Vice-President Sunil Dutt, committee members Akhileshwar Nath Mishra, Amarkant Jha, Pawan Mantri, Ashish Kumar Shahdeo, Yogeshwar Dubey, Rajiv Kumar Jha and Tarun Nath Shahdeo, along with Dr. Sandhya Singh, Anju Kujur, Principal Lalan Kumar, Vice-Principal Meena Kumari, teachers, staff members and parents.
