Jharkhand News : In Mohammadganj police station area of Palamu district, on Sunday, a mother, daughter and granddaughter who went to the forest to collect Khukhri (wild vegetable) died a painful death by drowning while crossing a mountain river. This accident happened with Shanti Kunwar, wife of late Sudeshi Rajwar, granddaughter Anjali Kumari and daughter Kajal Kumari, residents of Batua village of Mohammadganj police station area.
According to the information received, the three women had gone to collect Khukhri in the forest. While returning, they had to cross a mountain stream, but at that time the flow of water had increased due to heavy rain. While flowing down the stream and reaching Gauraha Dam, all three died by drowning. This incident happened in such a deserted place that no one around got a hint of it. When the three did not return home for some time, the family members started searching. Two days later on Tuesday morning, on the information of the villagers, the bodies of all three were taken out from Gauraha Dam with the help of divers. The death of three women of the same family has sent a wave of grief across the area. There is mourning in the village. The local administration has been informed. The police is engaged in further action. Meanwhile, the villagers have demanded to increase security arrangements in areas like forests and dams.
