Jharkhand news : A nationwide sit-in protest demanding a Tribal Religion Code will be held on February 25 at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi. The demonstration is being organized by the National Adivasi Coordination Committee of India.
National convenor Dev Kumar Dhan said on Friday that thousands of tribal leaders and representatives from across the country are expected to participate. Delegations will arrive from Jharkhand, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Assam, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana, among other states.
After the protest, the organizers plan to submit a memorandum to the President of India, the Prime Minister, the Union Home Minister, and the Registrar General of India, pressing for official recognition of a separate religion code for tribal communities.
