Jharkhand News : A shocking incident unfolded late Monday night in Sundara Phalan village under Shikaripara police station, where an obsessed lover brutally stabbed a couple to death and left their two daughters injured.
According to police, the accused Lokesh Murmu, a differently-abled youth from Pakur district, was in a relationship with Hiramani Hembram. When her parents opposed the relationship, citing his disability, Hiramani decided to end all contact with him.
Enraged, Murmu allegedly barged into the house of Sahab Hembram on Monday night. He first stabbed Sahab Hembram to death, then attacked his wife Mangli Kisku. When their daughters Hiramani and Beni tried to save their mother, he assaulted them as well. Both sisters managed to escape and seek shelter at a relative’s house.
Locals raised alarm, after which the accused fled. Police rushed to the spot and sent the injured sisters to Phulo Jhano Medical College Hospital in Dumka for treatment. Investigations are underway, officials said.
