One More Accused Arrested in Markacho Anish Murder Case

Jharkhand News : Police have arrested another accused in the murder of Anish Singh, a resident of Prem Nagar in West Mohalla under Markacho police station limits. The accused was apprehended during a raid in Giridih on Saturday and has been sent to judicial custody.

Markacho Police Station In-charge Nand Kishore Tiwari said that acting on a tip-off, police learned that one of the accused was hiding in Dhanbad. However, the suspect fled after sensing the police presence. Following a chase, the police arrested him from the Birni police station area of Giridih district.

The arrested accused has been identified as Pradeep Singh (50), son of the late Suresh Singh and a resident of West Mohalla (Prem Nagar), Markacho.

Police said that two other accused in the case had already been arrested and sent to jail earlier.

According to the investigation, the incident occurred on the night of June 5, when a minor altercation at a hotel allegedly escalated into violence. The accused reportedly entered Anish Singh’s house and assaulted him, leaving him critically injured. He succumbed to his injuries during treatment at Koderma Sadar Hospital on June 6.

Following the incident, the victim’s family lodged an FIR at Markacho Police Station, naming six persons as accused in the case.

Local residents have claimed that the incident was linked to an alleged love affair. However, police have not officially confirmed this motive, and the investigation is ongoing.
