Jharkhand News : A police constable injured on duty in Palamu district has passed away while undergoing treatment at RIMS, Ranchi. The deceased, Ajay Kumar Pandey, was a 2012-batch constable posted in the District Crime Branch (DCB) at the Palamu SP’s office.
A few days ago, Pandey sustained severe head injuries in a road accident while returning from his native village Toleya under Chainpur police station. He was first admitted to Medinirai Medical College and Hospital (MMCH), but as his condition worsened, he was referred to RIMS for advanced care.
Despite treatment, Pandey succumbed to his injuries on Monday. His body was sent for post-mortem at RIMS and later brought back to Palamu on Tuesday. At the district stadium, police officers and personnel paid their last respects with a ceremonial salute.
