Petrol and Diesel Prices Hiked; Petrol Crosses ₹100 in Ranchi

Jharkhand News : Petroleum companies have increased petrol and diesel prices by ₹3 per litre across the country. The revised rates came into effect from 6 a.m. on Friday.

Following the hike, petrol prices in Ranchi rose from ₹97.86 to ₹100.86 per litre, while diesel prices increased from ₹92.62 to ₹95.76 per litre.

Oil companies said the price rise was driven by the increase in global crude oil prices and supply concerns caused by ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

Meanwhile, reports of fuel shortages have started emerging from Ranchi and several other districts of Jharkhand. Long queues were seen at petrol pumps as people rushed to purchase fuel amid fears of supply disruption. Complaints of petrol and diesel being sold at inflated prices were also reported from some areas.

However, the administration and Petrol Pump Association have assured the public that there is no major shortage of fuel. Authorities appealed to people not to panic-buy and to purchase only the required quantity of fuel.

According to media reports, Ranchi is currently facing a daily shortfall of nearly one lakh litres in petrol and diesel supply, leading several fuel stations to run dry quickly.
