Jharkhand News : Residents across multiple parts of Ranchi are expected to face scheduled power outages today due to ongoing maintenance and infrastructure repair work by the electricity department. The outages are part of a broader power improvement initiative aimed at strengthening the city’s electricity network and ensuring more reliable service in the future.
According to official information, maintenance work will be carried out on the 33 kV Kanke line. As a result, areas such as Block Chowk, Bodeya, Kanke Bazaar Tand, Sukurhutu, Bukru, and Hochar, along with nearby localities, will experience power cuts from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM. This means residents in these areas will be without electricity for approximately two and a half hours.
In addition to this, regions falling under the Kokar division will face a longer duration of disruption. Power supply in localities including Krishnapuri, areas surrounding Chhath Talab Power House, Chutia, Sai Colony, and Ketari Bagan Road No. 13 will remain affected from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM. This extended outage is expected to impact daily routines, particularly for those working from home or running small businesses.
Meanwhile, maintenance activities in the Doranda division will involve the replacement of electrical wires. Due to this work, electricity supply will be disrupted at different intervals in areas such as Shukla Colony, Bandhu Nagar, and Gandhi Nagar. Authorities have also indicated that Uddhav Babu Lane and regions near Orchid Hospital may face power interruptions throughout the day, depending on the progress of the work.
The electricity department has urged residents to cooperate during the maintenance period and make necessary arrangements in advance to avoid inconvenience. People are advised to complete essential tasks beforehand, especially those requiring electricity, such as charging electronic devices, storing water, and managing business operations.
Officials emphasized that these temporary outages are essential for improving the overall power infrastructure and reducing the likelihood of unexpected breakdowns in the future. While the scheduled cuts may cause short-term inconvenience, the long-term benefits are expected to include more stable and efficient electricity supply across Ranchi.
Residents are encouraged to stay informed through local updates and plan their day accordingly.
